Though it's commendable that you have identified that being racist is an inherently bad thing, you seem to have misunderstood a few terms. If you go back to the first sentence of Marley's article, you will see the word racism underlined. It links to a list of definitions, read them.

Racism is not just individuals using another individual's race against them. Racism is the artificial creation of a race (for example, Black or Hispanic) for the purposes of domination. These racial categories become objective reality after being reinforced constantly by the dominating society and the individuals that benefit from this domination (for example, White people).
