This story resonated so powerfully with me; while reading, I couldn’t help but think of the Grenfell Tower tragedy that hit working class London in 2017. I make the connection not only because it also involves fire — Grenfell Tower burned down, killing 74 people and ripping families apart at the seams — but because of the grief and anger that reverberated through our entire country.

Grenfell changed us, made it impossible to keep believing that our ruling elite had our best interests at heart.

But, more than anything, Grenfell and its aftermath became a focus-point around which a community could unite and rebuild. Some of the stories that have emerged since are so powerful, they hurt.

Thank you so much for sharing this review, I can’t wait to see what you continue to produce!
