So far, I’ve not found any positive reviews of American Dirt, but that’s probably because the majority of online book reviewers I follow are fierce defenders and writers of own voices reviews.

Within the “bookstagram” community, which, admittedly, has its own diversity issues, there’s a dedicated hashtag to help book lovers avoid falling into the trap of only reading reviews written by major newspapers and publications, where the reviewer corpus is likely to very white and very middle class.

Perhaps it would be better if more of us read own voices reviews of both own voices and non-own voices books. Thank you for being one of these voices.
