I’ve been trying to cry less because I know it distresses my new baby and my partner… But I’m willing to let some loose for this story.

Thank you.

We’re just entering our second week as mother and baby, and it’s so hard. Breast feeding hasn’t been working, but I’m producing ungodly amounts, so I ended up with mastitis and a baby that can only drink from the bottle. It’s horribly demoralising. Before the birth, I didn’t even think breast feeding was that important, now I’m desperate to make it work while terrified of actually doing it because it hurts so much.

Much like pregnancy, I’d only heard glowy, flowery stories about the early bonding experience. I hadn’t realised what a war zone the first few weeks would be for both of us.

Seriously, thank you for talking about it.
