From a Marxist perspective, this is precisely the reason for the state/government (for the ideal Marxist utopia, however, the state and the concept of borders will eventually be removed) needs to provide support for those unable to earn more than the bare minimum needed to survive. Jimmy, for example, is stuck in his cycle of 24, always producing and copying his cartoons in order to survive. Just as workers are stuck in the cycle of the salary, always having to work in order to earn enough to survive.

We’re all stuck in the capitalist machine until we are collectively in a position to, as you have, be able to decide that we don’t need more money.
