As the fertility rate goes down, benefits for those who decide to have children go up. This means more publicly-funded daycares, maternity leave benefits and supports for young parents.

Women who choose not to have children have huge political power, and can use this to bring about policy change in the areas which matter: the environment, social welfare and reducing our dependence on unchecked capitalism.

The societal ills you talk about are a consequence of capitalism, not women choosing to remain child-free.
