As a new mum, I can attest to having already fallen into some of the inner conflict you’ve described here. Trying to consolidate who I was before with who I’ve suddenly become is very disorienting. I’m lucky to have an exceptionally supportive partner and a fairly (though not perfectly, society hasn’t yet allowed us that) equal relationship. My immediate thought when reading your reviews is that these women perhaps didn’t get the support they were owed as co-parents, and that this might become better under our current generational/cultural shift.
